About
Vrinda Sahai is a research analyst in the Security Studies Program at Carnegie India. Her work focuses on Indian foreign and security policy, particularly, India’s strategic partnerships and relations with major powers. Her current research examines India–U.S. bilateral relations, especially the evolving trade and defense dynamics shaping the partnership. She also works on India’s energy security, with a focus on strategic decision-making and energy resilience. Further, her research explores BRICS as a multilateral grouping, particularly in the context of the Indian presidency in 2026.
In addition to her work at Carnegie India, Vrinda’s work has been published in India’s World, The Print, The Diplomat, and the Grimshaw Review of International Affairs. She holds a master’s degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She also holds a Diploma in International Affairs and Diplomacy from the Indian Institute of Governance and Leadership.
